To finish of Varsity Day in style, the Manchester Tyrants will be hosting Fallowfield’s Official Superbowl Party on Sunday 5th February at 256/The Sir Joseph Whitworth. Tickets will be £4, get yours now!

Hey everyone,

As you probably all know University Sports teams have a lot of costs to cover, particularly in the case of American Football. So for next season we are trying to get deals with bars for NFL games, restaurants for team meals and the highly prized AGM… However we are also looking to expand and as we will have a size able squad next season (60 people) and so looking for transport deals and most importantly deals regarding equipment.

The first annual varsity game between the University of Manchester Tyrants and the Manchester Metropolitan University Mercenaries is now confirmed for Sunday April 3rd at Burnage Rugby Club. Kick off at 3pm

Tyrants Prepare For 2010 Season

The Manchester Tyrants are preparing for their first season representing only the University of Manchester.

The schedule for the upcoming season has been released and is available to view on the season tab.

Members of the Tyrants will be at the University of Manchester freshers fair on the 21st and 22nd September and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Training is likely to start in the last week of September - details of this will be published on this site when they are finalised. The Tyrants suffered a loss to the Conference 2 leaders Sheffield Hallam Warriors on Sunday, 60-0.

Tyrants Prepare for Hallam Warriors

The Tyrants are looking forward to what will be a difficult away game against the Sheffield Hallam Warriors this Sunday.

Quarterback David ‘Otto’ Ramsden said today, “Well as we all know Hallam are the top team in our division so far, but to me they are 0-0 for tomorrow’s game, and so are we and I will make sure my offence know this. We are on a level playing field, and we’ll show what we’ve got, on the field.”

Tyrants will gather this evening for their pre-game preparations, relaxing and discussing tactics for tomorrow’s game.

Kick-off 1PM, Sheffield Hallam University.

Tyrants Gather for Superbowl XLIV

Sunday night saw the 44th Annual Superbowl and, like other teams in the country, the Tyrants watched the game at the Superbowl party held at Walkabout, Manchetser.

The game saw the New Orleans Saints overcome the dominant Indianapolis Colts in a fantastic come-back victory, an inspiration to all of the Tyrants.

As the team watched the grandeur of the event state-side, conversation was still close to home and looking forward to the difficult away game to Hallam Warriors on Sunday.
